Blog Entry # 1
In our media culture, PSA's are one of the most effective ways to attract attention to a social issue. By using different approaches, they are able to attract, and reach, a targeted audience. When my group began thinking about PSA themes, we knew we wanted it to appeal to kids in our age range. Some possible topics were: Need vs Want, Consumerism and the environment. When we decided to do our PSA on the subject of raising money for South's media center, we knew we still wanted it to appeal to kids our age. For our PSA, we took a popular song and created our own lyrics as a way for it to still be a serious issue, but to be able to make it our own and have it appeal to those our age.
